Eight boats sailed the Goblin Regatta. The first day was warm, with light wind. Racing was tight with Jeff Marsh, Chad Turner, and Jason Artof trading places each leg. A persistent shift made the right-hand side of the course the best way to get to the top mark.
On the second day of racing, we managed to complete two drifters before calling it a day. Thanks to either a spell, or a curse, on this Halloween, a huge squall hit us about 5 minutes after completing the last race. The wind exploded from 1 knot to about 20 within about 30 seconds.
Many people stayed out to enjoy the high speeds before heading in. |
